Slurve magazine considers previously unpublished (and occasionally slightly published) work for pretty much any art form that is publishable on the internet.
All submissions should be sent to tryouts [at] slurvemag.com with the genre in the subject line, and a short bio (no more than 3 sentences) in the body of the email.
Seventh Inning Stretch Rule: we recommend sending at least 3 poems, with a limit of 7.
Cal Ripken Rule: generally speaking, fiction and essays should be kept under 2,632 words.
Hank Aaron Rule: reviews and profile pieces should be kept under 755 words.
Prospects: inquiries for potential articles and profile pieces are welcome.
Scouting Report: if you have a book, album, or film you would like us to consider for review, please inquire and we will give you instructions regarding where to send promotional materials.
Agents: Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please notify us as soon as your work is accepted elsewhere. Do not send additional work until hearing back about your original submission. Please allow at least 3 weeks before following up on initial inquiries. Upon acceptance, Slurve acquires first-serial rights. All rights revert to the artist or author upon publication, and the work may be subsequently published elsewhere, though we do ask that Slurve be given due recognition, and linked if possible. By sending us a submission, you are certifying that you agree to these terms, and that you own the rights to all work submitted.
